Health – Dental Care

Children are entitled to be enrolled at a school Dental Clinic from the age of three. Children from Ngaere School attend the Stratford Dental Clinic at the Medical Centre, Miranda St, Stratford.
All children are seen at least annually with appointment cards issued when children are due for their visit. It is the responsibility of parents to transport children to the Dental Clinic and to change appointments that do not suit.
Please inform your child’s teacher, or the school secretary of upcoming appointment times so their absence can be recorded accurately.

New Entrant Orientation

We invite new entrants to school once a week for 3 weeks before they are due to start school.
The purpose is to lessen the ‘new’ feelings experienced on a child’s first day. Hopefully this will make beginning school exciting and fun without the uncertainty and fear.
Please ring the school to arrange a starting date for your child. The best person to talk to is our New Entrant teacher, Ms Natarsha Hey
We also offer an initiation meeting to parents called, ‘Ready Steady School’ for parents of pre schoolers. This is usually by invitation a couple of times a year.
This meeting gives new school parents the opportunity to ask all the questions you may have around ‘starting school’ as well as an opportunity to meet the parents of other children who will be starting around the same time as your child.
